When you think of a Paloma cocktail, you think of Molly. If you’ve been following Molly on Instagram, you will notice that there are few things she can’t live without– and a Paloma is one of them. It is the perfect drink to spice up any night and never fails to be as equally delicious as it is stunning to look at. Since Halloween is around the corner, we asked our chef & friend, Kara Fauerbach, to share a new take on one of our forever favs. She’s bringing you the Paloma cocktail with a spooky twist: the Witches Brew Paloma Cocktail.
Because it’s a riff on the classic Paloma. It has the added warmth of the rosemary and muddled blackberry that you want in the fall but maintains the freshness from the grapefruit and lime that we love in a classic Paloma.
What you need to make this cocktail is a cocktail shaker, a fine mesh small strainer, and a knife to cut your lime. I would recommend this drink gets served in an “old fashioned” cocktail glass. You can definitely get creative with the garnish. You definitely want to keep the garnish limited to just the ingredients found in the cocktail. Personally, I used a slice of lime, a sprig of rosemary, and a couple of blackberries but you could absolutely garnish with even a grapefruit slice. Another idea for this would be to skip the garnish all together and salt your rim.
I love a great party pleaser. One that sparks conversation and can make the night one to remember. I love the idea of presenting this cocktail in a beautiful pitcher and filling the top with tons of garnish to make it a statement piece. Tip: When pouring this cocktail in a big batch, fill your glass with fresh ice, and top with the tequila mixture. Be sure to leave a two-finger gap from the top of the rim to allow room for the grapefruit Italian soda. Besides the fact that this cocktail is ridiculously delicious, it is also gorgeous.
