Be your own

Fall Lip Love

Lip-Love-1.jpg

I shared a recipe with the gorgeous bohemian lovely, Shiva Rose, and I wanted give some lip lovin’ over here on MollySims.com as well!!

I’m someone who, on the day to day, likes to keep her beauty regime pretty simple and easy.  To be honest, there really isn’t time for much more while chasing after my two year old!!  Gone are the days of long showers and any extra time in the mirror for primping or makeup application.  Lipstick is the perfect solution for a quick makeup fix.

I love a little lippy action!!  A pop of color brings it all together.  For lips, the fall color trend I am currently geeking over is violet.  It is such a beautiful rich shade that suits so many skin tones.  The trick with wearing a darker shade is to keep the rest of your makeup really light.  Let your lips do the talking!  Below are a few of my favorite shades of violet.

Sometimes my lips can get really dry especially this time of year and salvation is as close as my kitchen cupboard!  This lip scrub recipe is great for sloughing off dead skin and giving your lips the moisture they need.  I use grape seed oil as it is high in antioxidants and is heavenly for your skin.

Lip Scrub

  • ½ cup raw or brown sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Grape seed oil
  • 1 Tablespoon honey

Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix together well.  If your mixture is too crumbly add a bit more oil.  If it’s too runny add a bit more sugar. So, so, so easy!
