#SupermodelSecrets |How To be a Glowing Goddess

When it comes to “beauty buzzwords,” the term “strobing” is becoming quite the hot topic. I know what you’re thinking. “Didn’t I just learn how to contour!?” Don’t worry. Strobing is like contouring’s sun-kissed little sister! The huge difference is that strobing concentrates on the where the natural light hits while contouring concentrates on the shadows. I like to use both techniques for the ultimate glowing (yet defined) bronze goddess look!

Every celeb does a bronzed goddess look from time to time. JLo, Charlize, Beyonce, and Gisele have it mastered. Like any look, it can be turned up or down a notch. It can be natural or sunkissed…or dramatic like a bronze sphyinx come to life! It all depends on how much you apply; either way the key is to look fresh and dewy not overly shimmery.

A bronzed look with added highlight gives dimension and brings out the beauty of a face. Without a little bit of highlighter, a bronzed look can look a little dirty. Highlight can be added to a variety of makeup looks-and also looks fresh on bare, makeup-free skin. Every skin tone and color can benefit from it!

Now, let’s get glowing! (See what I did there? Sorry, I had to.)

o   For a baby smooth canvas, start out using a foundation the color of your chest. For most, that means a shade darker than your face. This will create a seamless look. Apply it all over your face and under the eyes as well.

o   Apply bronzer to sides of forehead down to the temples. Also apply just under your cheekbones and along the jawline. This will intensify bone structure. Use a warm shade bronzer with no shimmer

This step is where the strobing magic happens. It’s important to focus on highlighting the high points of the face.

  • Sweep a little under the eyebrow and a bit on the Cupid’s bow of your lip. Anywhere where the sun will naturally hit.
  • With a small brush, run a line of highlighter down the bridge of the nose.
  • Place a dab at the top of the cheekbone, making sure not to apply any to the apple.
  • Blend in with sponge (I love using the Beauty Blender) or tap in with fingers.
  • Take a clean, dry fluffy brush and sweep across the face lightly to blend any fine lines.
  • Finish off with translucent powder just on the T-zone and sides of nose.
  • For a sexy touch, apply on tops of shoulders and collarbones for a defined glow.
