My little Brooksie is full tilt OB-sessed with Legos. If he’s not building something with them, he’s talking about them. I don’t know how many times I’ve been walking around and accidently stepped on one. I mean seriously, mommas … am I the only one this happens to?! It’s definitely not a good feeling. I’m convinced it might just come with the territory of having a three-year-old boy!
I’ve been getting into this habit (especially when I’m up with Scarlett at night) where I end up browsing the Internet for HOURS! When I’m not making bad online shopping decisions for myself, I am finding fun activities for my Brooksie! I recently came across a guy named “King Of Random” who makes his own gummy lego candy and mold. Okay, so gummy candy and Legos? I KNEW this would be a homerun at my house. Instead of making my own mold, I made a 2 am decision to purchase an easy mold from Etsy.
I make it my goal to research healthy versions of snacks I give Brooks. Gummy candy is normally jam-packed with corn syrup, which we stay away from at all costs. So, of course, I call my superfood guru, Julie Morris, on speed dial who gave me the idea to substitute Agave syrup. Healthier yet still delicious! That’s always our end goal. Natural fruit juice is also a great sweetener to add in.
Here’s one version we made from real strawberries. For different colors, add drops of natural food coloring!
