It’s Jennifer Fisher’s world and we’re just living in it. Formerly a stylist, she’s since taken on the role of founder of her namesake line, Jennifer Fisher Jewelry. Going down this path was quite merely an accident. Now, the queen of hoops and fan-favorite to just about every celebrity and counting, Jennifer is a force to be reckoned with. She is undoubtedly a wellness guru (self-proclaimed or not) and is deeply passionate and well-versed in all arenas from food to nutrition to exercise, plastic surgery, and more. At the ripe age of 52 she has never looked better so we thought what better conversation to have than to tap into her ageless beauty secrets (she has a lot by the way!). From her anti-inflammatory diet to pilates as a religion, get ready to let Jennifer take you on a ride.
“It was a total accident. After giving birth to my first son, Shane, I would receive gifts that were not my style and I knew I would never wear them. I went to the jewelry district and showed a jeweler my design idea, which was later referred to as the dog tag. I envisioned a long gold chain and a dog tag engraved with my son’s name hanging from my neck. I was working as a stylist in LA at this time, and this necklace became an instant conversation piece with people on set. Soon enough, I began making them for my clients’ wives, daughters, or friends. This was how Jennifer Fisher Jewelry started. Our jewelry is made to be your family and your armor that you wear to represent the things in your life that are important to you. Everyone needs an item of jewelry you can carry around with you that represents something or someone you love. That’s what I love about engraving names and initials. Whether it’s a bracelet, ring, or necklace you’ll always have your good luck charm wherever you go.”
“I really wanted my jewelry to be featured on magazine covers. I asked my friends who worked in the editorial business how I could get more coverage, and was advised to make pieces that were geared more towards fashion. I remember seeing an Italian Vogue cover of Adwoa Aboah and she was wearing hoop earrings all the way up her ears. It was iconic. I always wanted to make hoops, and one day I just did it. Our first design was called the Samira Hoop. I just kept on making them after. Hoops are like denim. They’re a classic and you need a million pairs.”
“Pilates is my religion. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I do Flat Iron Pilates with Amy Nelms either in the studio or on FaceTime in my closet. Honestly, it’s 90% food and what you ingest. When I got diagnosed with Hashimoto’s I had no help learning how to properly eat. I have a very slow metabolism with Hashimoto’s, so I educated myself and came up with this anti-inflammatory formula that works wonders for me. I stripped out products that had gums or seed oils because they are inflammatory additives. I love my weekly grocery shopping for perishable and fresh ingredients, but it is also important to keep your pantry stocked with dry goods that fit your own health needs. I love eating out, but I try to eat at raw bars or Mediterranean restaurants. You still have to be careful even when taking precautions, because restaurants tend to blend their olive oil and canola oil. I simply tell them about my seed oil sensitivity and they cook my food in plain olive oil.”
