Every fall in Los Angeles brings the event of the season: the annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. If you’ve never been to a polo match, it’s quite the experience. It’s like the Kentucky Derby for the coasts (there’s one in New York, too!) Not only is it an excuse to bring out the breezy summer whites but also an excuse to drink lots and lots of champagne.
If a glass of bubbly and a day of fashion (well, and polo) don’t go hand in hand, I don’t know what does. Since the event is on Saturday I wanted to get myself in the spirit. How you ask? By making some champagne spritzers, of course!
Since I’m a huge fan of fresh fruit cocktails, I decided to add one of my favorite fall fruits into the mix: figs. These delicious fruits are sweet but not too sweet which pairs them perfectly with champagne.
