Beauty...
Today I’m excited to launch another video as a lifestyle expert for AOL. My dear friend and go-to gal on everything green, Robyn Casady joins me today to give us the scoop on how to get green in our kid space. You may remember Robyn from our previous video on going green with our household products.
Our mantra is exactly the same as our last video. That is to start with one thing. Don’t try to do everything at once!! That would be incredibly overwhelming. Our item to tackle today is plastics. Tossing out the plastic- not just BPA but also PVC. Robyn will explain more about why in our video.
Let stainless steel become your new best friend in the kitchen. Stainless is anti-bacterial. Stainless steel is non-porous so it resists bacteria and germs more effectively than plastic surfaces. It is actually one of the most hygienic surfaces available. Stainless steel also does not react with any foods that may be used during meal preparation and cooking.
The best part of all is that you do not have to purchase expensively. Head to a kitchen supply store to purchase reasonably. Small Prep bowls are perfect for kids. From soups, cereal and everything in between prep bowls are the ideal option for kids. I love the stainless bento boxes for kid lunches or food storage. An even bigger thought that is worth considering not just what you are putting into you kids lunch box but thinking about the trash it leaves behind. This lunch box prides itself on being litter free. Check out my video for more details on getting green for you kid space below. Go stainless!!
