Something really came across me this past weekend: I really need to venture out of my bubble in Los Angeles. I have never been to Lido in Newport Beach before and I’m not going to lie… I’m pretty jealous of all of you OC people. I fell in love with Lido. So, what brought me to the Brentwood Country Mart of the south? Well, youtheory & goop invited me to bring my Scar Scar to do some yoga, drink some smoothies and eat some collagen acai bowls and energy bites … I couldn’t have said yes any faster.

Once I parked I literally felt like I was in complete shock and felt like I was in another state. Okay, yes you guys I’ve been to Newport Beach before … but not since they’ve completely remodeled this center. They have every store that I die for. Jenni Kayne, Eberjey, Elyse Walker… and not to mention, the reason I was there: goop gift.
I just felt the need to write this blog because if I didn’t know how spectacular this area is, I figured neither would a good majority of my followers. So I’m just going to tell you about my day at Lido.
Upon arrival, as you can probably guess… I was amazed. It was a beautiful day… not a cloud in the sky and about 30 yoga mats set up for all of the supermommas and their kiddos. Talk about yogi heaven. Sian Gordon led us in our yoga practice and my Scar Scar got SO into it and I’m not going to lie, she was good! The entire following day she told everyone that she “did yoga with mommy yesterday and drank smoothies.”
Once our class was over, Dr. Nick Bitz, Chief Scientific Officer of youtheory spoke about the importance of collagen and saffron. It really got me thinking that these are nutrients that as we get older, we need to take these types supplements to maintain our skin’s elasticity and overall health. I have three young kids and I want to be here for them for as long as I can! After we learned all about the benefits to taking these supplements, we got to put them in our smoothies! And you guys… they were so delicious! I want to get the recipe so all of you can try it at home.
To continue our mommy and me day, we went over to goop to do a little shopping and they had the coolest coloring roll that Scar Scar destroyed while I did damage of my own. She had her eye on the ultimate Barbie DreamHouse that I’m afraid Santa might have to put under the Christmas tree this year.
The curation at this goop gift was beyond! I got a cheese board, some gifts for Stuber and I must admit, I got a few things for myself. To finish the day, we went to lunch at Zinque and had “Le Bowl.” If you guys do some damage at Lido, Zinque is the spot to hit to refuel. You can thank me later.
I have to say, it was one of my favorite Sunday’s that I’ve had in awhile. I want to send a huge thank you to the teams at goop and youtheory for an amazing and beautiful day!
