I’ve been there… TRUST ME. There is nothing worse than having acne. I have done everything from prescription to over the counter to weekly dermatologist visits to get a cortisone shot in my cyst. I have an amazing dermatologist in Los Angeles, her name is Dr. B. If you have any acne … she will get rid of it. Anyway… I have tried all of these products and I promise you when I tell you this… they work and they are worth your money.
IS Clinical Active Serum: This is another product that I discovered this year and I now swear by. If I don’t apply this on my face before a flight or a big event where I’m wearing a lot of makeup, I will break out. I don’t know what is in it that prevents me from breaking out, but I’ll never go back.
Portable High Frequency Machine: Okay, they use this machine after you get a facial to close up your pores. Anytime you have a cystic pimple, make sure your face is clean and get a piece of gauze and place the high frequency wand over the inflamed area. If you continuously use it, it will go away. It also helps with disinfection, promoting acne recover, reducing wrinkles and promoting metabolism and blood circulation of your skin and head.
Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment: If you have those little whiteheads that live underneath your skin, this is the treatment for you! It has a gentle exfoliation that will bring those white heads to the surface and leave your skin radiant. Also, if you’re suffering with acne scars or any type of hyper pigmentation, it will also treat that.
Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads: A pack of textured salicylic acid treatment pads that cleanse skin, clear up blackheads, refine the look of pores and reduce the appearance of life lines. You can also use these pads all over your body so if you’re someone with chest or back acne, they will also target those areas.
Glossier Solution: The best toner out there for those with acne prone skin. If you feel a pimple is about to surface, use this and it won’t come to a head. This solution gently gets rid of dead cells through chemical exfoliation. When used daily, it clears acne, blackheads, smaller pores and reduced redness. The Solution contains AHA, BHA and PHA acids.
Control Corrective Sulfur Mask: This mask helps absorb excess oil, reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and offers cooling relief for irritated skin. It’s also great for overnight spot-treatment and painful blemishes or cysts.
Kate Somerville EradiKate: Spot treatment that minimizes pimples and helps prevent future breakouts. Do not shake it and just dip a Q-tip and then apply it as a spot treatment.
Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Oil Balancing Facial Oil: When you have acne, the first thing you want to do is dry it out. However, that’s not always the resolution. You want to keep your skin hydrated because when it’s dry, it will make your skin thing it needs to produce more oil. This oil is hydrating that will also balance your skin while improving any redness or blemishes that you have. It has Blue Tansy which you don’t find in a lot of ingredients. This is the main ingredient that reduces redness and clarifies the completion without drying. It also contains inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
Drunk Elephant Baby Facial: I feel like this was one of the most popular skincare products this year. When you have acne, it’s important to exfoliate because it will reduce breakouts by keeping pores from becoming clogged with dead cells and skin oil. The results speak for itself— your skin will be smoother, tighter and more youthful.
I truly know the struggle of what its like to deal with acne and if there’s one piece of advice I can give to you out there is to stick with it. Don’t give up and find a great dermatologist. Find a great regimen that works for you and don’t give up on it!
