Beauty...

With ceremonies being pushed back and no in-person red carpet, the awards show season certainly looks different this year. One thing that hasn’t changed, thankfully, is the endless beauty looks from our favorite celebrities and their glam teams. But while retro waves and bold lips might not be making their way into our everyday routines just yet as we make our way through quarantine, glowing skin is always on our must-have list.
At this year’s Golden Globes, we noticed that Gal Gadot, Renée Zellweger, and Kaley Cuoco had something in common when it came to achieving their flawless skin. Prior to applying makeup, each of the actresses’ makeup artists used the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask—an at-home device that uses light therapy to provide both short and long-term skin benefits.

“I recommend LED and infrared light therapy to all my clients and use it in conjunction with every facial I give,” said Dana Hamel, a makeup artist and skincare specialist who worked with Zellweger ahead of the Golden Globes. The Current Body Skin LED Light Therapy Mask works by combining red and infrared light to treat skin on and below the surface level to boost circulation, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and increase collagen production.
“It also helps kill bacteria and decrease inflammation,” added Hamel.
While the mask requires regular use (three to five times weekly) for at least four weeks before you notice significant results like a reduction in fine lines and firmer skin, the LED treatment does help to enhance the skin’s overall appearance after one use. To further boost the mask’s immediate benefits, Hamel applied the Shiseido Vital Perfection LiftDefine Radiance Face Mask underneath CurrentBody to increase hydration and brighten the skin.

Each session can be done in just 10 minutes, and the CurrentBody mask fits better to the face than your typical light therapy device because it’s made from flexible silicone and attaches behind the ears. “It’s really light, easy to take with you when you travel, and it’s adjustable [so it] lets you do other things while using it,” said makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani, who worked with Gadot for the Golden Globes. “I also love that they have one for the neck and décolleté—I think a lot of women neglect that area even though as you get older that’s where you see the signs of aging the most,” she said of the brand’s The Neck And Dec Perfector.
