UNPUTDOWNABLE THRILLERS for Your Summer Reading List

Okay you guys, I’m finally headed to France! I’ve been so excited for this trip all summer to catch up on my reading. Momma loves a good book while I’m on vacation to keep my mind entertained. So, I am sharing a list of books by my favorite women-centric book outlet, She Reads. Grab some of these yourself, for your own mental retreat! We all need one this time of the summer.. There’s nothing better than kicking back on a summer day with a book that will bring you all the chills and thrills you’ve been craving. For thriller junkies and avid readers alike, these are 10 of the summer’s most unputdownable thrillers for your summer reading list. 

 1. A Stranger on the Beach by Michele Campbell

 From the outside, it appears that Caroline Stark has it made with the perfect family, a beautiful beach house and more money than she knows what to do with. But everything comes crashing down the night of her housewarming party as her husband exposes flaws in their delicate façade. Now fearing that she’s broke and being cheated on, Caroline leads on the local bartender, Aidan, for a meaningless one-night stand to feel better about her situation. Little does Caroline know, Aidan has other plans for their relationship and soon enough, Caroline’s husband is dead leading her to believe the mysterious bartender had something to do with it. 

 2. Miracle Creek by Angie Kim

 Young and Pak Yoo thought that they were helping build a brighter future with their Miracle Submarine—a pressurized oxygen chamber that helps cure medical problems like infertility and autism.  3. Whisper Network by Chandler Baker

With dark secrets being revealed, this change will leave everyone affected and not everyone will make it out of the tumultuous time alive. 

 4. Heaven, My Home by Attica Locke

 The second book in the thrilling Highway 59 series tells the story of missing nine-year-old boy, Levi King, and the Texas Ranger, Darren, tasked to find him. As Darren digs into the King family’s past, he realizes that Levi’s business-focused grandmother seems to be more worried about her wealth than her grandson, setting into motion a new set of fears. Uncovering years of prejudice and suspicion within the King family, Darren will have to race against the clock to not only save the young boy, but also his own reputation and life. 

 5. The Escape Room by Meg Goldin 

 Vincent, Jules, Sam and Sylvie love their lucrative lives in the world of finance and are smitten with the idea of participating in an escape room with their competitive coworkers, as they’ll be able to prove who really is the top dog. But they quickly find that nothing is what it seems, and a simple bonding activity has now become a game of survival. With dangerous secrets being exposed, not everyone will make it out of the escape room alive and those who do will find their lives forever changed. 

 6. A Nearly Normal Family by M.T. Edvardsson

 When 18-year-old Stella Sandell is accused of the murder of a shady businessman nearly two decades older than her, it leaves everyone asking why she would even know the man, let alone kill him in cold blood. As her father, a pastor, and her mother, a criminal defense attorney, fight to find the truth about their daughter’s innocence, they find their morals being tested. With plenty of family drama and suspense, the Sandell family will have to ask themselves if they can handle the fact that Stella may be guilty after all.  

 7. Because You’re Mine by Rea Frey 

 As a single mother to her on-the-spectrum son, Lee’s life is all about maintaining the perfect schedule. It isn’t until Lee’s best friend Grace convinces her to get away for the weekend that Lee finally breaks her methodic routine. Leaving her child with his trusted tutor, Lee finally takes some time for herself. But only 48 hours into the trip, someone is found dead, bringing about a plethora of dark and dangerous mysteries.  8. Into the Jungle by Erica Ferencik

 9. The Runaway by Hollie Overton

 Foster mother and LAPD forensic psychologist Becca is on the hunt for her troubled teenage runaway, Ash in Hollie Overton’s thrilling new novel, The Runaway. Aware of Ash’s past on the streets, Becca fears she may have gone back to the dangerous lifestyle she once kept. As she continues her search, Becca finds herself getting deeper and deeper into the Los Angeles’s criminal underworld, unsure if she’ll
be able to find Ash in time and save them both from the darkness that surrounds their home. 

 10. Lock Every Door by Riley Sager

 Jules Larsen is majorly down on her luck so when she’s offered a job as an apartment sitter at the Bartholomew—one of the most luxurious buildings in Manhattan—she jumps at the opportunity. As she gets to know those who live in the building, she finds herself connecting with Ingrid, a fellow apartment sitter who opens up about the building’s past and how its secrets frighten her. But Jules doesn’t take Ingrid’s warnings seriously until Ingrid disappears, forcing Jules to investigate her disappearance and the grim truth about the Bartholomew.
